Health
Reference only, not medical advice. UAE visitor risks are mainly heat, sun, dehydration, road/water safety, and food or stomach upset. Drink treated or bottled water if unsure, use safe-food habits, and plan outdoor time around extreme summer heat. Mosquito/tick-borne risks are lower than in many tropical destinations but still use repellent outdoors; avoid camel contact if concerned about MERS exposure. No high-altitude issue for typical city/coast trips.
Vaccinations
Consult a doctor or travel clinic before travel. CDC advises being up to date on routine vaccines, including MMR, polio, flu, Tdap, varicella/shingles as appropriate, plus COVID-19. Hepatitis A is recommended for unvaccinated travelers; hepatitis B and typhoid are commonly considered based on age, itinerary, food exposure, and activities. Rabies pre-exposure vaccine may be considered for animal-contact or remote plans. Yellow fever vaccine is not recommended for UAE itself, but a certificate is required for travelers aged 9 months+ arriving from, or transiting over 12 hours in, a yellow-fever-risk country.
eSIM / connectivity
eSIM is widely supported in the UAE if your phone is unlocked and eSIM-compatible. Main local options include e&/Etisalat Visitor Line, du Tourist SIM, and Virgin Mobile UAE tourist eSIM/SIM plans. Tourist SIMs/eSIMs are commonly sold online, through carrier apps, and at major arrival airports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah; passport or GCC ID verification may be required.
