Hong Kong International Airport (Chek Lap Kok, HKG) is Hong Kong’s main international gateway and a major Asia hub, especially for Cathay Pacific and oneworld connections. It also supports HK Express, Hong Kong Airlines, Greater Bay Airlines and extensive regional flying across Mainland China, East Asia and Southeast Asia, alongside long-haul routes to Europe, North America, the Middle East and Oceania. For frequent flyers and transit passengers, the key practical point is that Terminal 1 remains the core arrivals, transfer and boarding environment: all boarding gates are in the Terminal 1 system, including the Midfield and Satellite concourses. Terminal 2 is now mainly a departures processing terminal for selected airlines, with check-in, bag drop, security and immigration before passengers use the Automated People Mover or airport routing to reach gates in Terminal 1.
