Kaohsiung International Airport KHHRCKH

Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) is southern Taiwan’s main international gateway, but it is not a major global connecting hub on the scale of Taipei Taoyuan. Think of it as a compact regional airport: international services focus on Hong Kong/Macau, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and cross-strait routes, while domestic flights mainly serve Taiwan’s offshore islands such as Penghu and Kinmen. UNI Air and Mandarin Airlines have an important local base here; China Airlines, EVA Air and Tigerair Taiwan are also significant operators, but KHH is not an alliance mega-hub. The airport’s strength for frequent flyers is convenience: two terminals, short walking distances, direct Kaohsiung Metro access, and a city-centre ride that is usually simple enough to make a longer layover usable.
