Brussels Airport (BRU, Zaventem) is Belgium’s main airport and the home hub of Brussels Airlines, a Star Alliance member within Lufthansa Group; TUI fly Belgium is also an important operator here. For frequent flyers, BRU is most useful as a compact European and Africa-connecting hub rather than a mega-airport: Schengen traffic is concentrated in Pier A, many non-Schengen flights use Pier B, and Brussels Airlines’ Africa operation is a defining feature. The airport has one main terminal under one roof, so transfers are usually walkable, but Schengen/non-Schengen moves still depend on passport control and your itinerary.
