Where to Base
Base yourself near the main port or the Church of Panagia Evangelistria. This central location provides easy access to the 800-meter pilgrimage route and allows convenient exploration of the island's numerous windmills and sculptor workshops. Staying here minimizes transit time and immerses you in the island's spiritual and artistic core.
Airport Connection
Tinos has no airport. Travelers must first reach nearby Mykonos or Athens, then transfer to a ferry to reach Tinos. The ferry wharf serves as the primary transportation hub connecting the island to the rest of the Cyclades and mainland Greece.
Best Season
The island is accessible year-round, but August 15th (Dormition of the Virgin Mary) is the peak period due to the major pilgrimage. During this time, visitors can witness devotees crawling the path to the church. For a quieter experience focused on art and history, spring or autumn offers ideal conditions without the crowds.
