Where to Base
Most travelers choose to stay in Kanchanaburi town for better hotel standards and amenities. Sai Yok itself has limited accommodation, mostly basic bungalows near the national park, suitable only for those prioritizing direct access to nature over comfort.
Getting Around
There is no airport in Sai Yok. Access is by road from Bangkok (approx. 2.5-3 hours) or Kanchanaburi town. Public transport is limited; hiring a private car or taxi from Kanchanaburi is the most reliable way to reach the waterfalls and hot springs.
Best Season
The dry season from November to February offers the most comfortable weather for exploring the park. While the rainy season (June-October) makes the waterfalls more impressive, trails can be slippery and some areas may be inaccessible due to high water levels.
