Where to Base
It is recommended to stay in the Panna town center or near the entrance to the national park. The town center facilitates exploration of historical landmarks like the Panna Palace, while areas near the park allow for easy morning access to the sanctuary for wildlife viewing. Given the small size of the city, most attractions are within walking distance, simplifying transportation logistics.
Getting Around
Panna does not have an airport. The nearest aviation hubs are typically Jhansi or Nagpur, requiring road transfers. Local transportation relies mainly on taxis and auto-rickshaws. For business travelers, it is advisable to book vehicles in advance to ensure smooth itineraries, as public transport options are limited.
Best Season
The best time to visit is from October to March. The weather is cool and pleasant, ideal for outdoor activities and wildlife observation. Summers (April-June) are extremely hot, and the park may close to protect animals. Winter is the golden period for spotting tigers and other wildlife, also resulting in higher hotel occupancy rates.
