Bib Gourmand 1

Morzsa

Bib Gourmand€€Contemporary, Hungarian

‘Crumbs’ is a new wave bakery-cum-bistro with a relaxed urban style, owned by a charismatic and exuberant designer. Sit inside to watch the making of the delicious loaves and pastries or head out to the terrace for some people-watching in the part-pedestrianised lane. Modern, flavour-packed small plates are served throughout the day and can be accompanied by something from the biodynamic wine list. Naturally, a pastry is a must to finish, but with so many delicious options it can be hard to choose... and if you simply can't decide, there's always the option to take something home for later too

Hosszú Tányér

€€€€Modern Cuisine, Hungarian

This romantic little restaurant sits in an attractive courtyard setting and is keenly run by its hands-on owner Franciska. Nothing is too much trouble for her when it comes to her guests, who she encourages to relax and fully appreciate the experience. The five-course tasting menu comes with plenty of little extras and the flavour-packed dishes are truly beautiful to look at – with flavours to match. In an all-encompassing experience, the contemporary artwork on the walls changes every two months along with the menu – and the ceramic dishes are specially designed by the chef himself.

GÓRÉ

€€Modern Cuisine, Hungarian

A góré is a barn used to dry cereals, and that was this sleek restaurant’s former function – although it's hard to imagine that following its chic refurbishment. Climb the stairs to the raised dining area beneath the beams to enjoy the view out through the floor-to-ceiling windows; alternatively, enjoy an al fresco experience on the covered terrace. The heart of the menu has strong classical foundations, but unique additions offer innovation and originality, with fermentation techniques featuring highly. The restaurant is remotely set in a sleepy village, so the comfy bedrooms are a real bonus

Located within a Villány vineyard, Sauska 48 holds Michelin stars and is praised for its modern Hungarian cuisine, professional service, and elegant atmosphere. Many guests highlight the excellence of the seven-course menu paired with local wines. However, negative reviews cite inconsistent service, poor meal pacing, and issues with food quality, such as undercooked fish or oversteamed steak. Some diners also reported uncomfortable seating conditions due to lack of shade and ventilation in hot weather. While the setting is scenic, experiences vary significantly regarding staff attentiveness and culinary consistency.

Suitable for diners seeking refined cuisine who can tolerate potential service inconsistencies; verify seating comfort in advance.
