Mevagissey

Mevagissey is a picturesque fishing port and civil parish in Cornwall, England, nestled in a small valley facing east towards Mevagissey Bay. Located approximately five miles south of St Austell, it serves as the second largest fishing port in Cornwall, bustling with a mix of working fishing boats and pleasure vessels in its inner and outer harbours. The village centre features narrow streets lined with eateries and tourist-oriented shops, while the outer areas climb the steep surrounding hillsides, offering mostly residential settings. This combination of vibrant maritime activity and scenic coastal beauty makes it an attractive destination for travelers seeking an authentic Cornish experience away from larger urban centres.

This immaculately kept 18th-century pub has a deceptively large interior, with a rustic, pine-furnished dining area, a capacious bar and space to dine upstairs too. Much of the produce used in the fresh, flavoursome cooking comes from in and around the Roseland Peninsula, utilised in a combination of pub classics (think 'dippy' Scotch egg, vegetarian shepherd's pie or sirloin steak with chips) and more modern, ambitious dishes. The natural, engaging service will put a smile on your face and adds to the experience.
