Where to Base
Stay in the town center for easy access to major attractions. Due to the 1998 amalgamation with the Municipal District of Badlands No. 7, the municipality covers a large land area. Choosing a central location ensures proximity to services and reduces travel time to key sites.
Getting Around
Located 110 km northeast of Calgary, there is no local airport. Travelers typically fly into Calgary or Edmonton and drive or take a shuttle. Given the spread of attractions across the valley, renting a car is highly recommended for efficient exploration of the badlands.
Best Season
Summer offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the outdoor badlands. Winter can be cold but provides a quieter experience. The town's dinosaur museums and indoor attractions remain open year-round, making it a viable destination regardless of the season.
