Where to Base
Base yourself in New Shoreham village for easy access to dining and shops, or near the northern tip for stunning views of the North Light and quieter surroundings. Both areas offer convenient access to the island's main attractions while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.
Getting Around
Access is via ferry or small aircraft, as there is no major airport. Once on the island, bicycles, walking, and taxis are the primary modes of transport. With 40% of the land set aside for conservation, cycling and hiking are excellent ways to explore the undeveloped northwestern tip and coastal paths.
Best Season
Summer is the peak season, offering ideal weather for surfing, sailing, and beach activities. However, the population can triple, leading to crowds. For a more tranquil experience with still-accessible outdoor activities, consider visiting in spring or autumn when the island is less crowded but equally scenic.
