Where to Base
It is recommended to stay near the center of Betong town for easy access to natural attractions and local life. As a border town, high-end chain hotels are scarce; accommodations are mostly local guesthouses or homestays. Verify facilities in advance as options are limited.
Getting Around
Betong has no airport; the nearest international hub is Hat Yai. The drive from Hat Yai takes approximately 2-3 hours. Within the town, songthaews or taxis are the main transport. It is best suited for travelers who enjoy driving or hiring private vehicles to explore the surrounding areas.
Best Season
The southern Thai rainy season can be prolonged. It is advisable to visit during the dry season (November to February) when the weather is cooler and drier. This period is ideal for outdoor activities and visiting natural attractions in the Betong District, such as waterfalls and forest parks.
