Health
Armenia trips mix city travel with hot, dry summers and high-elevation mountains. Food and water standards can vary; use treated/bottled water when unsure, especially outside cities or while hiking. Prevent tick, mosquito and sand-fly bites; CDC notes risks such as CCHF and leishmaniasis. Hydrate, use sun protection, pace hikes, and plan for colder weather at altitude.
Vaccinations
Consult a doctor or travel clinic at least a month before travel. CDC advises being current on routine vaccines, including MMR, polio, flu and others, plus COVID-19. Hepatitis A is recommended for unvaccinated travelers; hepatitis B is recommended for many travelers. Discuss rabies pre-exposure vaccine if animal/outdoor exposure or limited access to care is likely. Yellow fever vaccine is not recommended and no certificate is required for Armenia.
eSIM / connectivity
Connectivity is generally straightforward in Yerevan and major towns. Armenia’s mobile operators are Viva, Ucom and Team Telecom Armenia; 4G is common, with 5G in parts of major areas. eSIM is available through local carrier channels and travel-eSIM providers, but confirm phone compatibility, ID rules and activation method. Prepaid/tourist data options are commonly sold at airports and city shops; mountain/rural coverage can be patchy.
