Zurich Airport (ZRH) is Switzerland’s largest international airport and the main hub for SWISS, making it a strong Star Alliance transfer point; Edelweiss and other Swiss-based carriers also give it a leisure and regional role. For passengers, it works less like separate airline terminals and more like one integrated airport: Gates A mainly handle Schengen flights, B/D can serve both Schengen and non-Schengen flows, and Dock E is the non-Schengen satellite reached by the underground Skymetro. The best city-centre link is the train from Zürich Flughafen station under the Airport Centre to Zürich HB, typically about 9-13 minutes with frequent service. ZRH is compact for a hub, but passport control, security re-screening and Dock E transfers can still matter on tight itineraries.
