Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport LHWZLLL

Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport (LHW) is Gansu’s main air gateway and a useful regional hub for northwest China, rather than a giant national connecting hub. It is an international airport/port of entry, but most passenger activity is domestic or regional China-focused. China Eastern, Hainan Airlines and Spring Airlines are notable focus-city carriers here; alliance-wise, do not think of LHW as a full SkyTeam/Star/Oneworld fortress, although China Eastern brings SkyTeam connectivity. Since 20 March 2025, passenger operations have moved to the new T3, with T1/T2 closed or out of normal passenger use. The airport is unusually far from central Lanzhou, so the airport railway is normally the cleanest city transfer.
