Abu Dhabi International Airport AUHOMAA
AUH, now branded Zayed International Airport, is Abu Dhabi’s main international airport and the home base for Etihad Airways and Etihad Cargo, with Air Arabia Abu Dhabi also an important local operator. It is a serious Gulf hub, but unlike Dubai or Doha it is not built around a global alliance: Etihad is not a member of Star Alliance, oneworld or SkyTeam, though it has many bilateral partners. For frequent flyers, AUH is most useful as an international and regional connecting point across the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. Since the move to Terminal A, passenger operations are much simpler: scheduled flights use one large, modern terminal rather than the former Terminal 1/2/3 split. The airport is about 30 km east of central Abu Dhabi; taxis or ride-hailing are usually the easiest city transfer, while buses are useful if time matters less.
