This restaurant is named after the year in which Das Schiff, the tasteful hotel that houses it, was founded. Done out in an abundance of wood and featuring delightful decorative details such as pictures and lamps, the dining nooks with their classically laid tables are the epitome of cosiness. The restaurant boasts further charms indoors: regional cachet shines through, beautifully combined with chic, modern style. The menu includes classics – beef tartare and crispy battered fish bites are a must – and contemporary dishes such as lake fish ceviche or, for dessert, "wild cacao from Bolivia".

At an elevation of 2 085m, the gondola ride up here (free with your reservation) is even worthwhile for non-skiers. In addition to the breathtaking view, you can expect ambitious cuisine made from high-quality ingredients that doesn't limit itself to a specific style – rather it showcases traditional, regional, Mediterranean and even Asian influences. Appetising options include yellowfin tuna sashimi, Wiener schnitzel and risotto alla carbonara. The exceedingly friendly and charming waitstaff will be happy to recommend the right wine from the extensive list.

The atmosphere is inviting, not least because of the warm hospitality provided by the waitstaff.
