Edinburgh Airport EDIEGPH
Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is Scotland’s busiest airport and the UK’s sixth busiest, but it is not a classic global alliance hub. Think of it as a strong point-to-point international gateway: easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and Loganair are prominent, while British Airways, KLM/Air France, Lufthansa-group carriers, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, United, Delta and others give it useful long-haul and alliance connectivity. All passengers use one main terminal, so there is no terminal-to-terminal transfer, but EDI is not designed like a major connecting hub: separate-ticket transfers may require arrivals, baggage reclaim, border formalities where applicable, check-in and security again. The tram is usually the most predictable city-centre link, taking about 30 minutes to Princes Street/St Andrew Square.
