Entry & visa

China → Kenya

Visa-freeeTA required

Kenya's official eTA page states that an eTA is permission to travel and final admissibility is determined at the port of entry; the official page does not guarantee a fixed stay length for ordinary Chinese passport short tourist/business visitors.

Ordinary Chinese passports are not listed among the 2025 Kenya eTA-exempt nationalities; an approved Kenya eTA is required before travel. Passport must have at least 6 months validity and at least one blank page; application normally requires itinerary, accommodation, photo and contact details.

Common questions

Does a Chinese ordinary passport holder with a valid U.S. visa avoid Kenya eTA?

No. Kenya's official 2025 eTA exemption list does not list holding a U.S. visa as an exemption; ordinary Chinese passports are also not in the eTA-exempt nationality list, so an approved Kenya eTA is still required before short tourist/business travel.

Does holding a U.S. green card, Schengen visa, UK visa or Japan visa change Kenya entry rules for a Chinese ordinary passport?

I did not find an official Kenya rule making those documents waive the Kenya eTA. Kenya's official page requires an approved eTA before travel except for listed exemptions, and the listed exemptions do not include those foreign visas or residence documents.

Does a Singapore passport holder need Kenya eTA for a short tourist/business visit?

No, if the stay does not exceed 90 days. Kenya's official 2025 eTA exemption list includes Singapore nationals for a period not exceeding 90 days.

Does an APEC Business Travel Card waive Kenya eTA?

I did not find Kenya's official eTA exemption list naming the APEC Business Travel Card as an exemption. APEC's official ABTC page describes facilitation for travel among APEC economies; Kenya is not an APEC economy. Do not treat ABTC as waiving Kenya eTA.
