Entry & visa

China → Croatia

Visa requiredstay 90 days

A Schengen visa is required before travel for short tourist/business visits; permitted stay is limited by the visa and the Schengen 90/180-day rule.

Passport should normally be valid at least 3 months after intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years; border officers may require purpose, funds, return/onward travel and no refusal-alert grounds. A U.S. visa, U.S. green card, UK visa, Japan visa or APEC Business Travel Card does not by itself waive the Schengen visa requirement.

Common questions

Can a Chinese passport holder with a valid U.S. visa visit Croatia visa-free for tourism or business?

No. Croatia applies the common Schengen visa rules; Chinese ordinary passport holders are visa-required. A U.S. visa is not a Schengen visa and is not a substitute waiver for entering Croatia.

Can a Chinese passport holder enter Croatia with a valid Schengen visa?

Yes, if the Schengen visa is valid, covers Croatia, and has sufficient entries and days. Croatia is in the Schengen Area, and Schengen short-stay visas are generally valid for all Schengen states unless territorially limited.

Can a Chinese passport holder use an APEC Business Travel Card for visa-free business entry to Croatia?

No. The APEC Business Travel Card visa-waiver/pre-clearance system applies to APEC economies; Croatia is not an ABTC participating economy. Travel to Croatia is governed by Schengen rules.

Is a Taiwan passport visa-free for Croatia?

If the passport contains an identity card number, it is generally visa-free for short tourist/business visits, up to 90 days in any 180-day period in the Schengen Area. Taiwan passports without an identity card number should not be treated as covered by that visa waiver.

Does a U.S. passport holder need a visa or ETIAS for a short tourist/business visit to Croatia?

As of 2026-06-18, no visa is required and ETIAS is not yet a current mandatory authorization; the traveller may visit visa-free under the Schengen 90/180-day rule. ETIAS is expected in Q4 2026, after which visa-exempt travellers will need travel authorization under EU rules.
