Common questions

Can a Chinese passport holder with a valid U.S. visa visit Greece visa-free for short tourism/business?

No. The Greek MFA list shows ordinary Chinese passports as visa-required; the relevant document that removes the need for an additional Greek visa is a valid Schengen visa/residence-type Schengen document, not a U.S. visa.

Can a Chinese passport holder with a U.S. green card visit Greece visa-free for short tourism/business?

Not on the basis of the U.S. green card alone. The Greek MFA list shows ordinary Chinese passports as visa-required; Schengen rules recognize Schengen-issued visas or residence permits for travel within Schengen, while a U.S. permanent resident card is not a Schengen entry waiver.

Can a Chinese passport holder enter Greece with a valid Schengen visa?

Yes, if the Schengen visa is valid for Greece and still has available entries, validity and days of stay. Short stays are generally counted across the Schengen area as 90 days in any 180-day period.

Are all Taiwan passports visa-free for Greece?

No. The Greek MFA note says the Taiwan passport exemption applies only to passports that include an identity card number.
