Macalister Mansion, a Member of Design Hotels

Set to be awe-inspiring, the century-year-old colonial mansion is the basis for Macalister Mansion. This majestic mansion turned boutique hotel presents a quirky yet sophisticated lifestyle-oriented residence, where visitors can experience Penang's rich heritage without even leaving the building. Proud to be the first member of Design Hotels in Malaysia and a list of accolades received over the years, Macalister Mansion did not rest on its laurels. The hotel continues to raise its bar with the beautification works, which began in July 2020 covering the 8 guestrooms, lobby, reception area, upstairs landing area with a new reading corner, a beautifully transformed poolside garden and pool bar as well as a newly added function room. Followed by a suite of pampering services that are so intimately fulfilling to the core that will simply make you go “mm….” The hotel reopens its door in October 2020 with the birth of 3 room categories.
