- Public areas are elegantly designed and artistic, but guest rooms (especially in the new wing) are sparsely furnished, comparable to mid-scale chains.
- Staff provide warm, egalitarian service like friends, though welcome gifts (fans) are considered rough.
- Some rooms have poor views facing garbage dumps or parking lots; booking old wing rooms is recommended for better scenery.
