A lively bistro with a youthful feel, set in the heart of the town centre and featuring a pleasant outdoor terrace overlooking the square. In the kitchen, chef-owner Della Croce presents a menu that strikes a pleasing balance between meat and fish, always guided by careful respect for the seasons. Among the dishes most appreciated by the Inspector is the excellent octopus alla marinara: expertly cooked in two stages and full of flavour, it is served with cherry tomatoes, garlic, olives and capers, bringing out the character of the ingredient with both simplicity and skill.

Situated near the seafront in one of Pescara’s iconic streets, Nole offers guests two different dining options: the bar-bistro section serves excellent breakfasts, light lunches and snacks (closed in the evening), while the minimalist, contemporary-style dining room is home to the main restaurant. The two sections are separated by the open-view kitchen, where the chefs prepare classic, modern meat and fish dishes, with a focus on whatever ingredients are available in the market that day.

Housed in what was once an old family home, this elegant restaurant serves delicious regional cuisine. The menu includes dishes that have been skilfully and imaginatively enhanced by the chef, such as warm pheasant terrine with apple, alongside more traditional fare, from cured ham to charcoal-grilled local lamb and potato gnocchi with a duck sauce. The restaurant’s own extra-virgin olive oil often adds further flavour to the dishes. The 4-course tasting menu deserves a special mention for its excellent value for money.

Situated on the road that passes through Manoppello Scalo, this restaurant with a car park right in front of the building boasts a spacious, simple dining room and is our recommended choice in the region for anyone keen to try typical Abruzzo cuisine. Meat takes pride of place among the main courses (with an exception for salted cod), while menu highlights include excellent fried gnocchi with local salumi and cheese.

This old acquaintance of the Michelin Guide now has a new chef at the helm! Although the decor and furnishings remain the same with a slightly old-fashioned feel, the cuisine is modern yet with no unnecessary frills and has a fresh and generous flavour. Highlights on the menu include the new raw fish options, which have an entire tasting menu to themselves. The well-stocked wine cellar is home to around 500 labels which offer good value for money.
