Umberto a Mare

Seafood · ★ Michelin

In a spectacular setting beneath the Church of Soccorso, with breathtaking sunset views over the sea, Umberto rises to match such natural beauty with elegant, contemporary Campanian cuisine. The tasting menu Sogno di una Notte di Mezza Estate (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) dazzles with the signature Gioco di Mare dish, while the dessert selection is equally memorable. Don’t miss the grouper tortelli or the daily catch, prepared with modern techniques. The visitable wine cellar houses over 1,500 labels, featuring exceptional Champagnes, great French classics, and outstanding German Rieslings. Spec

Don’t miss the appointment with sunset: as the sun sets behind you, the sea before you ignites with marvelous hues, thus revealing the meaning behind the restaurant’s name. We find ourselves in an exclusive area of the Hotel Regina Isabella, a small marina from which the view embraces Lacco Ameno, Casamicciola, the island of Procida, Vesuvius, Bacoli... a unique and unforgettable panorama, with the sea enclosed between lands and islands as if in an enchanted bay. In the kitchen, Ischia-born Pasquale Palamaro evokes his island memories through refined and creative dishes. The offering takes sha

Seafood, Regional Cuisine

It was a love story between an American and a local girl from Forio that led, in 1949, to the opening of this restaurant overlooking the port, with its attractive veranda boasting fine sea views. The current management team have made this one of the most interesting restaurants in the region for anyone keen to sample traditional cuisine from Ischia and Campania. Don’t miss the pasta served with local (and very rare) zampognaro beans, mussels and squid, or the Ischian-style rabbit presented in an attractive terracotta dish. A good choice of fish dishes is also available.

When you arrive at the luxury Botania hotel, you’ll be accompanied through 3ha grounds of lush Mediterranean vegetation to the restaurant. You couldn’t have a better introduction to the cuisine that awaits at Il Mirto, where you can choose between two long tasting menus or a shorter four-course option featuring dishes from these menus. One of the menus is vegetarian, the other vegan and almost all the vegetables are sourced from the property’s own kitchen garden or from other local growers from Ischia.
