The Yucatan Peninsula is the perfect destination to enjoy biodiversity, culture, archeology, and traditions. Near the Mayan cities of Uxmal and Oxkintok, of the Puuc region is the Hacienda Santa Rosa, an architectural jewel from the 19th century that initially functioned as a cattle ranch and later became a sisal producer, joining more than a thousand haciendas of this type in the region during this fiber splendor time. It is ideal for those guests who want to feel at home, as it has only 11 rooms. At the entrance of the Main House, our hosts will welcome you with refreshing traditional hacienda water and a smile that will charm you. You will notice that the atmosphere and spirit of those years when sisal haciendas flourished have been preserved. You will find wicker and rattan furniture, high ceilings with wooden grins, and frescoed mosaic floors in the local style. At the back of the Main House is the restaurant surrounded by lush gardens where you can enjoy exquisite local and international dishes. A characteristic feature of this hacienda is the setup of romantic dinners on the terrace illuminated by candlelight. Additionally, it has the "El Palomar" lounge recommended for meetings. Next to the old engine room was a gallery that was converted into rooms. Each of them is unique and has its own character; most have private gardens, and some have private outdoor tubs. They are spacious and furnished with simplicity and elegance. One of the most special rooms is the Casa Maya, which is a villa built to resemble the typical houses of the region. In the bedroom, there is an original hanging bed and a private outdoor tub. Discover the natural treasure of the Botanical Garden at Hacienda Santa Rosa! Walk rustic paths, exploring endemic plants used in traditional Maya medicine. The 19th-century orchard and irrigation systems cover a one-hectare plot with over 230 plant species. Connect with the community through direct experiences and workshops, acquiring unique products from local artisans merging Maya techniques with contemporary designs, such as hammock weavings and hand embroidery. Don't miss the community library near the entrance, part of the Haciendas del Mundo Maya Foundation, where we actively engage in sustainable and educational initiatives.
