Traube
French Contemporary · ★ Michelin
€€€€
Since chef-patron Arno Sgier took over the reins in 1993, this restaurant in the little town of Trimbach has developed into a real culinary gem. Traube is a lovely place to be, with its chic and modern interior done out with premium furnishings, and its well-trained front-of-house team attending to your every need. Then there is Arno Sgier's technically ambitious cuisine. His classic yet really modern style is evident in, for example, the delicately acidic Lostallo salmon marinated in buttermilk and chive oil, served with textures of cucumber and quinoa crisps. The classics, too, are given a m

Rosmarin

Following its relocation within Lenzburg, Rosmarin entices diners with a cool concept: The modern setting allows for up to 12 guests to sit at a counter right by the open kitchen, where chef-patron Philipp Audolensky prepares a creative surprise menu comprising five to seven courses (vegetarian or vegan options are available by prior arrangement). Appetisers and pastries are prepared by Céline Huber. The tartare of premium Bremgarten salmon trout, enhanced with finely chopped kimchi for juiciness and a gentle spicy kick, and finished with a delicate, intensely aromatic chive mayonnaise, is a f

Landgasthof Ochsen
Farm to table, Traditional Cuisine · Bib
€€
Here at this inn dating back to 1288, the food is terrific – the skilful chef clearly pours a lot of love into his cooking. As well as regional dishes and classics, Asian and Mediterranean influences make their way onto the menu. A meal in their Gaststube is a somewhat simpler affair. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the pond, plus a charming smoking lounge. They offer comfortable and functional guestrooms, along with a charging point for electric vehicles.

The superb location on the River Aare is a big draw here, and it goes without saying that a spot on the terrace is highly prized! The food is fresh and aromatic, with emphasis laid squarely on the quality and seasonality of the produce. The "Tavolata" set menu, which also has a vegetarian counterpart, includes starters to share, a palate cleanser and a choice of different main courses. There is also an à la carte menu, reprising, for example, the starter selection from the set menu.

Classic, seasonal and regional food is the name of the game here. Guests can enjoy fine dining and vegetarian options in the Zeitgeist restaurant, as well as house classics, including the signature dish: chateaubriand. Tip: The chocolate cake with coffee is sensational! Alternatively, you can order burgers, pasta etc in the cosy Hirschenstube. Popular terrace for summer meals, plus comfortable guestrooms.

Genuss-Apotheke
Creative, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

All that remains of the pharmacy that once stood here is the reference to it in this establishment's name. These days, a restaurant with a fresh, modern concept awaits you behind its large windows. Seated at beautifully laid tables in a bright, minimalist interior, diners find their gaze drawn to the open kitchen. Here, chef-patron Raimar Pilz cooks creatively with top-notch ingredients. He always successfully incorporates piquant herbs in his subtle and nuanced dishes, such as "grilled scallop in its shell, celeriac, lauchasche seasoning" or "steamed perch, mussel-whey emulsion, dill oil". Located in the Old Town, right on Klosterplatz, this invitingly down-to-earth restaurant serves classic Italian cuisine made from high-quality ingredients. The menu features pasta and a variety of traditional meat and fish dishes, with plenty of familiar favourites. Mouthwatering examples include "Piccata Milanese con Risotto ai Funghi Porcini" and "Fusilli 'Pasta di Gragnano' alla Scarpara". As you might expect, the wine list features Italian labels. Owner Sergio Salsi brings a personal touch – his charming, easy-going manner fills the restaurant with life and gives it real character.

A delightful place with a lively atmosphere! This elegant 19C townhouse opposite the Church of St Martin houses a charming brasserie with decorative details such as old photos, a striking chandelier and attractive parquet flooring. There is also a heritage-protected dining room with stuccoed ceilings. Chef-patron Daniel Bitterli cooks classic, traditional dishes that take their cue from the seasons and draw on Mediterranean influences. Dishes such as the sole fillets with two kinds of asparagus and hollandaise sauce exemplify the restaurant's commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and f
