Einstein Gourmet
Creative, Modern Cuisine · ★★ Michelin
€€€€
On the fifth floor of the renowned Hotel Einstein, chefs Sebastian Zier and Richard Schmidtkonz propose an international set menu showcasing exceptional precision and culinary artistry. The four to six courses are built on ingredients of the highest quality, thoughtfully composed without any gimmicks. The result: elegant yet bold dishes such as the superb pike-perch from Lake Maggiore, cooked to perfection and served with wonderfully al dente beluga lentils, cucumber salad and sauerkraut, as well as velvety horseradish foam. If you would like a vegetarian alternative, it's best to mention this

Soleil d’Or by David Geisser
Creative · ★ Michelin

The restaurant run by brothers Benjamin and David Geisser is a really chic spot with its impressive architecture over two storeys and imposing bar that immediately draws the eye. The upscale design featuring warm wood finishings, elegant gold accents and sophisticated dark tones is in keeping with the calibre of the dedicated front-of-house team and the ambitious, refined food. The cuisine does not confine itself to any one style: this is cooking inspired by the region but also with a cosmopolitan outlook. Creativity, exquisite ingredients, and a bold culinary style go hand in hand with precis

Contemporary, Classic Cuisine · ★ Michelin

This modern, urban restaurant on the edge of the old town is dedicated to the Alpine region. Exquisite seasonal ingredients take centre stage in the ambitious evening "Genussreise" , a five-course "gourmet journey" complemented by amuse-bouches and optional cheese trolley. Additionally, à la carte options and a three-course surprise menu are available. Dishes such as pike dumplings with caviar sauce and Sevelen Wagyu with creamy celeriac purée and truffle perfectly showcase Markus Schenk's sophisticated yet pleasingly down-to-earth take on classic cuisine. The service is friendly and adept. Th

Jägerhof
Modern Cuisine, International · ★ Michelin
€€€
Jägerhof is an establishment steeped in culinary history! Since 2016, former sous-chef Agron Lleshi has been at the helm, delivering modern seasonal cuisine that seeks inspiration in the local region and abroad. Diners can opt for an ambitious three- to eight-course menu (the truffle course has been a signature dish for years) or order à la carte. At lunchtime, things are somewhat simpler. The chef's mother makes the fresh bread rolls. A sleek, elegantly pared-down interior design of soothing, warm tones and modern lines creates a welcoming atmosphere. Professional service is provided by a tea

This pleasantly lively place is located right in the city centre. With high ceilings, dark wood panelling, exposed brickwork and large windows, the restaurant is really atmospheric. Swiss classics are served alongside international cuisine. A diverse range of vegetarian and vegan dishes is also available. The menu features options such as creamy Riesling soup with grapes and parmesan, tuna and Scottish salmon sashimi with ponzu sauce and wasabi mayonnaise, or veal liver with herbs, onions, port wine jus and buttery potato rösti. In addition to a terrific wine list, there is an interesting sele

Housed in the Schützengarten Brewery building, this trendy restaurant is popular, not least among the locals! The decor here is lovely – rather rustic at the front, more elegant in the area to the rear. The terrace and beer garden are delightfully secluded – the brewing happens next door, so you're often greeted by a pleasant malty aroma. The menu features Swiss classics such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (sliced veal served in a cream and mushroom sauce) and, every Wednesday, fried veal liver with rösti. The saffron-scented fish soup with vegetables and garlic bread is equally delicious, and vege

Contemporary, Mediterranean Cuisine · ★ Michelin

You may be surprised to discover such a fine place in a business park, but you will immediately be transported to the Mediterranean. You can enjoy an aperitif in the relaxed lounge looking out over the pretty garden. Martin Benninger cooks up classic cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. Stripping a dish down to its essence does not mean sacrificing depth of flavour – take, for instance, the carpaccio of just-caught scampi paired with a delicately tangy champagne butter, shavings of raw mushroom and fresh chives. The interior is modern and elegant – in summer, with its glass front open, the cons

In this first-floor restaurant, wood panelling and low ceilings create a snug and welcoming atmosphere, perfectly matched by seasonal cuisine made with fresh produce and brimming with flavour. The menu is sure to whet the appetite, with options such as veal liver with onions, sage und rösti, vegetarian loaf with mashed potatoes, carrots and creamy mushroom sauce, and the classic Chateaubriand (for two or more diners). The meat comes from the restaurant's own butchery. For overnight stays, there are well-appointed, modern guestrooms. Convenient: The tram to St Gallen stops right nearby.
