With its winning combination of historical and modern features, this restaurant has a really appealing look. The dominant feature of the dining room is a lovingly preserved old wine press (or Torkel in the local dialect), which blends in well with the modern decor that surrounds it. The conservatory is fantastic: the walls can be open up, so you feel like you're sitting on a terrace among the vines with views of the Rhine Valley. Proprietor Ivo Berger and his team propose a contemporary take on classic cuisine. Dishes such as "hand-dived scallop, miso nage, radish, quinoa", as well as grilled

Sven Wassmer's cooking is really quite something. He has no need for showmanship or technical gimmicks; instead he captivates diners with a uniqueness that is difficult to put into words. What arrives on your plate appears pleasingly pared down and elegantly simple, yet at the same time, it is replete with elaborate details that create balance and depth of flavour. The finest ingredients underscore his deep connection to Switzerland. Bold and rich in contrast, honest and accessible – this is the kind of cuisine that keeps you coming back for more! The set menu comes in 10, eight or six courses

Temporarily closed due to renovation work in the hotel. Expected reopening in December 2026.This stylish restaurant in a historical vaulted room inside the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz showcases a concept that was devised by none other than celebrated chef Andreas Caminada: an elaborate, creative "fine dining sharing experience". In keeping with the name (igniv is a Romansh word meaning "nest"), the focus is on the well-being of guests and the pleasure of communal dining. First-rate ingredients are used to create a very special set menu, each course of which is made up of several small dishes – all

This restaurant subscribes to the interesting concept of "health-and-lifestyle cuisine", which places the emphasis on sustainability and fair trade. Here, they make a point of using seasonal produce sourced from the local region and are keen to exchange ideas with local growers and producers. Their international produce is also sustainably farmed. The dishes, which are inspired by nature, can be ordered à la carte or as a set menu – for example, "sautéed pike-perch, sauerkraut, bacon, beurre blanc, mountain potatoes" or the equally flavoursome "cheesecake mousse, cinnamon blossom foam, pear".

Diners are spoilt for choice here! The variety of delicious dishes on offer ranges from wonderful starters such as vitello tonnato and delicious soups to risotto and Thai curry and Austrian classics such as Tafelspitz (beef boiled in broth), Wiener schnitzel or local char – all prepared using good, fresh produce. For dessert, the poppy seed noodles, for example, are extremely tempting. The atmosphere in this lively restaurant in the centre of the village is also inviting with its cosy, modern decor. Friendly service, and in summer be sure to make the most of the lovely terrace in front of the

A real institution in the canton of St Gallen. Since 1974, the Kalberer family name has been synonymous with exquisite fine dining. Son Roger has taken the reins and runs the kitchen in the same vein as his predecessors. The kitchen team showcase their ambition with a three- to seven-course set menu featuring dishes such as hand-dived scallop, kohlrabi and ceviche broth. There are also tempting à la carte options such as the pleasingly down-to-earth Hereford beef fillet strips with mustard cream sauce. Dishes brimming with robust flavours are complemented by a fabulous wine list including a de

The location in the side wing of the modern Klinik Gut private hospital may be a little unusual, but the food here is excellent… thanks to Sebastian Titz (previously at Verve by Sven in Bad Ragaz), who cooks up regional and seasonal cuisine that cuts to the chase. Lunch is the main affair here: dish of the day, a small à la carte selection and set menus (fish/meat or vegetarian), as well as a weekly special and "Our House Speciality". A tasting menu is served on Thursday evenings. The decor is trendy and minimalist in style, with an open kitchen; the view of the mountains and the surrounding a

A feel-good spot through and through, this bistro run by the Kalberer family owes much of its appeal to the unmistakable warmth of its hospitality. The elegant historical setting and attentive service provided by staff in traditional dirndl attire add to the charm. And then there's the wonderful food, which is both sophisticated and fairly priced. Classics such as braised veal cheeks and Hacktätschli (meat patties) are delicious. Highly recommended: the seasonal set menu featuring three to four courses. Impressive wine selection. Tip: The cosy garden restaurant opens in summer.
