Among the dishes most appreciated by the Inspector is the excellent octopus alla marinara: expertly cooked in two stages and full of flavour, it is served with cherry tomatoes, garlic, olives and capers, bringing out the character of the ingredient with both simplicity and skill.

Steps from the sea, just beyond the train tracks, a spot with an all-white decor welcomes guests in style, with outdoor spaces perfect for the warmer months. In the kitchen, his son reinterprets regional traditions, balancing seafood and land-based dishes, while his mother runs the dining room with warmth and professionalism. An authentic experience combining flavor, simplicity and a relaxed atmosphere.

From the coast, you take a winding road uphill to this family-run trattoria which boasts sea views from its terrace. Apart from the salted cod, the menu only features meat dishes, with a focus on simple, traditional Abruzzo specialties. These include arrosticini (skewered grilled meat), fragrant mushrooms, barbecued meat and delicious “pizza dogge”, the latter a type of layered dessert with sponge cake, custard, confectioner’s cream and Alkermes liqueur. The concise wine list also focuses on the Abruzzo.

In the heart of the seaside area, within a pedestrian zone, the historic *Società Operaia di Mutuo Soccorso* (SOMS) is now a delightful venue with a cozy, slightly contemporary dining room. It offers cuisine tied to Abruzzese traditions, both land and sea, executed with originality.
