The Surf Club Restaurant

American · ★ Michelin

Located within the elegantly restored landmark, now in league with the Four Seasons, The Surf Club is a prime location for Thomas Keller's first Florida venture. The restaurant boasts all of the style and elegance of a private, members-only hangout with a handsome vintage bar, plush banquettes and dim, amber-hued lighting. Don't rush—you'll want to soak up all of its Art Deco glamour.Sharp-suited servers exude a certain effortless professionalism—not unlike the impressive Continental cooking. Perfectly seared crab cake with spicy mayonnaise and a thinly sliced coleslaw is at once familiar and

Middle Eastern, Israeli · ★ Michelin

$$$$

Israeli Chef Raz Shabtai has brought his take on Middle Eastern cuisine to Miami. Named for his grandmother, this is a place where snagging a seat at the chef's counter is a must. The menu is hyperlocal and rotates often, so don't be surprised when something runs out. Fear not, however, as the excellent staff will help you discover your new favorite. Some notable dishes include a show-stopping plate of beets in a pool of ajo blanco and topped with beetroot sorbet. The signature lamb kebab with smoked aubergine cream and tomato oil is pure comfort, as is chicken a la Tunis, juicy and flavorful

Blink and you'll miss this place, located in a spacious parade of shops in North Miami. There are no airs at this tiny space from Chef Anthony Verastegui. Sit at the counter of this simple raw bar and enjoy a warm welcome as he preps causas and ceviche. Expect a dozen or so dishes with no starters and no desserts. Each dish is freshly prepared with skill and knowledge while the flavors are clean and vibrant. A fine bowl of the tuna tataki rocoto, with its thick slices of cured red tuna, has a superb smoked flavor, and the Faroe salmon topped with a lovely cilantro salsa is outstanding.

When Steve Santana launched his humble taco stall in 2014, he probably didn’t imagine just how popular it would get. The web developer-turned-chef was one of the first in the city to nixtamalize, grind, press and griddle his tortillas in-house, and now look—the breezy location in North Beach is central command for a recognized brand that sources corn from small farms in the Midwest and supplies restaurants across the city. Signature blue corn tortillas wrap around a host of fillings, like melting lengua or fried mahi, all garnished with radish, onion and served with sharp salsas (ask for the c
