Located in a residential area in the south of Stuttgart, this gem may not be easy to find but it is well worth seeking out! Run with great dedication, the restaurant has an appealing interior and polished service, not forgetting the modern cuisine served up by chef-patron Michael Huppert. Rife with fully developed flavours, and delicate contrasts, his beautifully balanced dishes home in on top-notch, predominantly regional produce. It's a real pleasure to eat here, and there's a good reason for that: chef-patron Daniel Stübler clearly puts his heart and soul into running his cosy little restaurant. He cooks up excellent regional and international dishes, and also does the serving himself – not only is he highly accomplished at what he does, he is also an extremely cordial host and single-handedly creates a fantastic atmosphere! The carefully curated wine list is also remarkable, featuring wines from Baden-Württemberg, Baden and the Palatinate only.

For car enthusiasts who are fans of quality cuisine: here you can take in views of the Porsche Museum or Porscheplatz as you tuck into Mediterranean and international fare such as pluma bellota Ibérico taco with pineapple and pink peppercorn chutney, or barbecued US prime beef. You can also opt for a six- or nine-course tasting menu. The open kitchen offers some fascinating insights. Impressive wine list comprising over 500 items. Don't be fooled by the rather unspectacular exterior of this corner-plot building! Once inside, you will be immersed in a Far Eastern-style minimalist setting and have the chance to savour Nakagawa's Japanese creative cuisine, which draws on contemporary and French influences. Choose from set menus and à la carte options – sushi and vegetarian dishes are also present and correct. Only fish of the finest quality makes the cut. Professional service comes courtesy of polite, friendly waitstaff, who will gladly provide sake recommendations.

Café, bistro, restaurant – this family-run establishment in the compact pedestrian area of Rutesheim is all of the above. Opened in 1987 as a café by Mr & Mrs Striegel (both pastry chefs), it has since blossomed into a sophisticated restaurant. The absolutely fabulous location is as much of a draw as the glass architecture, the design and the ambitious international cuisine. There is a simpler lunch menu, too. The o.T.
