H World
H World Group, also known from its Huazhu heritage, is a China-origin hotel group with a large domestic base and an international arm built around the former Steigenberger/Deutsche Hospitality business. H World International traces its roots to 1930, when Albert Steigenberger took over Hotel Europäischer Hof in Baden-Baden; the company later became Deutsche Hospitality in 2016, was taken over by H World in 2020, and adopted the H World International name in 2024. As of March 31, 2026, H World reported 13,215 hotels with 1,303,563 rooms in operation across 21 countries, including 120 H World International hotels. Its portfolio ranges from H World China’s economy and midscale core to upper-midscale and international upscale/luxury lodging: Steigenberger Icons is positioned around Grand Hotel luxury, Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts covers city, resort and heritage properties across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, while MAXX focuses on essential comforts in a more relaxed format. The group’s official brand list also includes names such as HanTing, JI Hotel, Orange, Crystal Orange, IntercityHotel, Zleep Hotels, Jaz in the City, Steigenberger Icons and MAXX Hotel. Loyalty is centered on H Rewards, which presents itself as the program for Steigenberger Icons, Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts, MAXX Hotels, Jaz in the City, IntercityHotel, Zleep Hotels and Ji Hotel.
