Bib Gourmand 1

Acebuche

Bib Gourmand€€Fusion

Located in the part of town most popular with tourists, this restaurant is a leading name in Zafra’s culinary heritage. Now completely renovated, it has taken on a new lease of life in the hands of the couple running it. Carmen and Javo, who met at the one-Michelin-star El Invernadero in Madrid, decided to head off on their own and, in so doing, transformed the cuisine on offer here, skilfully combining the cooking of Extremadura with that of Argentina in a nod to their respective origins. Only one concise menu is available, although medias raciones are also an option.

Acebuche in Zafra offers fusion cuisine, earning a 4.6/5 rating on TripAdvisor. Reviews frequently highlight high food quality, praising fresh ingredients and skilled preparation with Italian and Argentine influences, with some comparing it to Michelin standards. The atmosphere is described as cozy and warm, while service is generally noted as friendly and professional. However, negative feedback points to inconsistent service speed and concerns over value, with some guests finding portions too small relative to expectations. While most diners enjoyed an excellent culinary experience, a minority felt the cost did not justify the quantity served. Overall, it is a highly regarded establishment for its gastronomy and ambiance, though individual experiences may vary regarding service efficiency and perceived value.

Ideal for diners seeking high-quality fusion cuisine and a comfortable atmosphere, with attention to service details recommended.

La Rebotica

€€Traditional Cuisine, Regional Cuisine

Well located in the town’s historic quarter, La Rebotica occupies the interior of an old house that has managed to bring itself up to date while maintaining its welcoming rusticity. Its updated take on traditional cuisine, with a focus on Retinto beef as well as cod dishes, is well supported by a good selection of Ribera del Guadiana wines. Don’t miss the delicious “trilogy of Iberian meat (“presa”, sirloin and “secreto”)!
