Where to Base
Prioritize staying in the town center or immediately adjacent to the Arugco petroglyph site. This location allows for easy walking access to restaurants, shops, and major historical sites, ensuring safety and convenience, especially after dark when public transport may be limited.
Getting Around
There is no direct airport in Valle de Anton. Travelers typically fly into David (DAV) and take a bus or taxi to the valley. Within the town, walking is feasible for central areas, but renting a car is recommended for exploring surrounding waterfalls, coffee farms, and indigenous communities efficiently.
Best Season
The dry season, from December to April, offers the most comfortable weather for hiking and outdoor exploration. The rainy season brings lush greenery but can make unpaved roads difficult to navigate. Plan activities accordingly, as afternoon showers are common outside the dry months.
