Stay between the old town and the beach for the best balance. This area offers access to historic properties while remaining close to the illuminated promenade and numerous chiringuitos. Avoid the eastern Los Álamos end if you prefer quiet, as it hosts live dance music events in summer. The central location provides easy walking access to amenities without the density of newer high-rises found elsewhere.
Located just 13 km from Málaga, Torremolinos is well-connected via the A-7 motorway, Cercanías commuter trains, and Avanzabus services. While the airport flight path affects some water sports at the eastern beach, ground transportation is efficient for exploring the wider Costa del Sol. The bypass road helps reduce traffic congestion within the town itself.
Summer temperatures hover around 30°C, cooled by sea breezes from Africa, though Saharan dust is common. Winters are mild (17–19°C) with occasional heavy rain. The climate is among Europe's best year-round. June is particularly vibrant due to the Pride celebrations, one of Spain's largest. Sea fog can appear suddenly but dissipates quickly, rarely disrupting plans.
