Where to Base
Base yourself in the Old Town for easy access to Dutch colonial landmarks and local markets, or along the coastal strip near Lovina for serene ocean views and dolphin-watching excursions. Both areas offer convenient access to regional attractions while maintaining a peaceful ambiance suitable for rest.
Getting Around
There is no direct airport in Singaraja. Travelers typically fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in southern Bali and drive north, a journey taking approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Within the city, motorbike rentals and ride-hailing apps like Grab or Gojek are efficient for navigating the compact urban center and nearby coastal spots.
Best Season
The dry season from April to October offers the most pleasant weather for exploring northern Bali's landscapes, including the black sand beaches and inland waterfalls. This period ensures clearer skies and better conditions for outdoor activities. Avoid the rainy season if planning extensive hiking or boat trips, as roads can become slippery and sea conditions may be rougher.
