Panglao Island, part of the province of Bohol in the Philippines, is renowned for its pristine white-sand beaches and vibrant coral reefs. It serves as a tranquil escape from the hustle of Manila, offering a relaxed coastal atmosphere. The island's hospitality infrastructure is concentrated primarily in two key areas: Alona Beach, known for its lively dining scene and easy access to water sports, and Doljo Beach, which offers a quieter, more secluded experience. For frequent travelers, Panglao acts as an excellent base for exploring the wider Bohol region, including the Chocolate Hills and Tarsier sanctuaries. While the island itself is small and walkable in parts, having a hotel near the main beach roads ensures convenient access to ferries and local transport. The area caters well to leisure travelers seeking sun, sea, and relaxation, with a growing selection of international and boutique accommodations.

There is no airport on Panglao Island. Travelers typically fly into Tagbilaran City or take a ferry. From Tagbilaran Airport or Port, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes by taxi or tricycle to reach Panglao. Local transport includes motorbike rentals and jeepneys.
The dry season from November to May offers the best weather for beach activities, diving, and island hopping. Avoid the typhoon season, particularly between July and October, when rain and rough seas are common.
