Where to Base
Focus your stay in Morro Jable or Costa Calma. These are the two largest coastal towns within the municipality and serve as the primary hubs for accommodation. They offer the best concentration of hotels, restaurants, and amenities. Morro Jable is slightly more developed with a larger marina and shopping center, while Costa Calma offers a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with extensive sandy beaches. Both locations provide easy access to the Jandía Peninsula's natural attractions.
Getting Around
There is no airport in Pájara itself. The nearest major airport is Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) in the north. Traveling from FUE to Pájara takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes by car or taxi, depending on traffic. Given the spread-out nature of the municipality and the desire to explore the Jandía Peninsula's remote coves and beaches, renting a car is highly recommended for hotel guests. Public buses connect the main towns but may have limited schedules for late-night returns or remote beach access.

Pájara enjoys a mild climate year-round, making it a viable destination for all seasons. The summer months (June to September) offer the warmest weather and calmest seas, ideal for swimming and water sports. However, this is also the peak tourist season. Winter months provide plenty of sunshine but can be windy, which is excellent for kitesurfing and windsurfing enthusiasts. For travelers seeking solitude and lower crowds, spring and autumn offer a balanced experience with comfortable temperatures and fewer visitors at the major coastal hotels.
