This fine dining restaurant is as chic as the designer hotel of the same name. Whether in the conservatory or the lounge area, the modern, minimalist decor feels both cosy and stylish. In the kitchen, young chef-patron Nicolai Peter Wiedmer demonstrates his mastery of classic cookery as well as his creative flair – he also likes to incorporate Asian flavours. In the evening, the set menu ("Lieblings Momente") can also be served in a vegan version. At lunchtime, two smaller tasting menus (one vegan) are served, as well as the business lunch. The fabulous wine list comprises around 450 labels, w
WebsiteThe historical Rührberger Hof estate, which is home to this long-established family business, has been around since 1902. The fact that it was once used for farming is no longer apparent today. The pleasingly modern interior is an attractive setting in which to savour the excellent cuisine of brothers Christoph und Felix Düster. This is based on classical foundations and takes its cue from the region and the seasons. At lunchtime, the reasonably priced set menu of the day is very popular. There are also well-kept contemporary-style guestrooms.
WebsiteSet up in what was formerly the gardener's house on a historical country estate, this is the trendy restaurant-bar concept of the Düster and Schneider restaurateur and winemaking families. Christoph Düster's cuisine is made up of what could be described as "modernised classics". The premium quality of the ingredients is evident in dishes such as "pizokel (buckwheat dumplings), Périgord truffle, spinach, hazelnut" or "guinea fowl, sherry, parsley root, Andengold potato". The atmosphere is pleasingly laid-back and casual, not least thanks to the easy-going, attentive and ever-present service und

WebsiteKrone has been properly invested in: from the façade to the hotel rooms, everything is chic and high quality, the restaurant is modern and sleek. The food is very good, with select produce turned into aromatic dishes with plenty of flavour. At lunchtime, a smaller range of interesting options. If you are staying longer, Basel and Alsace are very close by.
WebsiteOwner Kathrin Bucher has been running this restaurant in an attractive old villa near Lörrach exhibition centre since 2012. Dine in the cosy, bright interior or, in summer, out on the wonderful terrace. They serve lunch only: until 3pm you can order the set menu or from a small menu compiled from favourite dishes of the last decade. After that, there are desserts and ice creams/sorbets until 5pm.
WebsiteWith over 500 years of history to its name, plus a stylish interior, this moated castle near the Swiss border has for years been synonymous with classic French cuisine made from top-notch produce. You can dine à la carte or choose the set menu – there is also a vegetarian or vegan option. Accompany your food with one of the great wine recommendations. Our tip: The guesthouse 150m away has terrific rooms for overnight stays.
WebsiteThis venue calls to mind a culinary school courtesy of its purebred Gallic menu (ballotine of duck foie gras, beef fillet, Mirabelle plums flambéed in armagnac) and starched table service. Tradition and classicism reign all ‘around the table’.
