City Character & Hotel Bases

The city center and surrounding districts are the primary areas for accommodation. Hotels here are often converted from old factories or traditional Japanese ryokans, suitable for travelers seeking quiet and cultural immersion. Avoid remote industrial zones; choose hotels near JR Kiryu Station or the central commercial district for maximum convenience.

Airport Connection

Kiryu has no airport. The nearest major hubs are Tokyo Haneda or Narita airports. Take the JR Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Kiryu Station, which takes approximately 40 minutes. It is recommended to transfer directly to the Shinkansen upon arrival in Tokyo for the fastest and most comfortable access to Kiryu.

Best Season

Spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November) offer pleasant weather, ideal for strolling through historical districts. Summers are hot, but indoor activities at local textile museums provide relief. Winters are cold but bring a serene ancient town atmosphere, making it a perfect time for photography and history enthusiasts.
