Where to Base
Accommodations within Guriú itself are extremely scarce. It is highly recommended to base yourself in larger nearby hubs such as Santa Maria or Porto Alegre, which offer extensive hotel networks, and then take day trips or short stays to experience the rural charm of Guriú.
Getting Around
There is no airport in Guriú. The most common route involves flying into Salgado Filho International Airport (POA) in Porto Alegre or Carlos Ribeiro Regional Airport (GLO) in Santa Maria. From there, visitors must arrange rental cars or intercity buses to reach the town, as public transit options are limited.
Best Season
The best times to visit are during the spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) months. During these periods, the weather is mild and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside, enjoying outdoor activities, and participating in local cultural events without the extreme heat of summer or the chill of winter.
