Where to Base
The Gero Onsen district is the primary hub for accommodation, featuring both traditional ryokans and modern hotels. Staying near the JR Gero Station or in the heart of the onsen town provides easy access to hot spring facilities and local attractions.
Getting Around
Gero has no airport. The nearest major airport is Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO) in Nagoya. It takes approximately two hours by limited express train from Nagoya to Gero Station, making it accessible for business and leisure travelers.
Best Season
All seasons are suitable. Spring offers cherry blossoms, autumn features vibrant foliage, and winter provides a magical experience with snow-covered hot springs. Summer is cool and ideal for escaping the heat. Hotel options are plentiful, but advance booking is recommended during peak seasons.
