Choczewo

Choczewo is a village in Wejherowo County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, serving as the seat of Gmina Choczewo. Located in the historic region of Pomerania, it offers a quiet, rural atmosphere distinct from major urban centers. The village is home to an 18th-century manor house of the Dzięcielski family, now repurposed as a cultural center and library. Notably, Choczewo was selected in 2011 to host Poland's first nuclear power plant, though the project was eventually moved to Lubiatowo-Kopalino in 2021. For frequent-flyer hotel travelers, Choczewo provides a serene base for exploring northern Poland's heritage, with easy access to local history and the disused railway line that once connected Wejherowo to Garczegorze.

Situated in the basement, there’s a pleasantly cosy feel to the dining room, which is accentuated by the cheery, welcoming service; a garden terrace is used to fine effect in the summer. The full-flavoured cooking incorporates French bistro and Italian influences such as confit duck leg and tarte Tatin.
