Where to Base
Accommodations are primarily concentrated in the town center and along the waterfront. Staying here allows for easy walking access to the harbor, local markets, and scenic promenades, making it convenient to enjoy fresh seafood and the vibrant local culture without needing transportation.
Airport Connection
There is no airport on Saint Peter's Island. Travelers must first fly to mainland Sardinia (such as Cagliari or Olbia) and then take a ferry to reach Carloforte. This journey requires significant time, so allow ample buffer for connections. It is best suited for leisure travelers who do not mind a longer transit process.
Best Season
Summer months (June to September) offer pleasant weather ideal for beach activities and outdoor exploration, though the town is busier. Spring and autumn provide a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere, perfect for travelers who prefer to explore historic streets and natural landscapes without the peak-season crowds.
