As of October 2025 Barclays stopped accepting new applications for its AAdvantage Aviator cards; Citi is taking over the AAdvantage co-brand portfolio and existing Barclays cardholders are expected to be moved to Citi products during 2026.

Historically the welcome offer was earned after a first purchase and paying the annual fee within 90 days, with the amount varying by promotion (commonly cited at 60,000–70,000 miles); no current offer exists because the card is closed to new applicants.
