Earns 4X at restaurants worldwide (up to $50,000/calendar year, then 1X), 4X at U.S. supermarkets (up to $25,000/calendar year, then 1X), 5X on prepaid hotels via AmexTravel, 3X on flights booked direct or via AmexTravel, and 1X on other purchases.

The card charges no foreign transaction fees from American Express.

The Gold Card does not include complimentary airport lounge access; lounge benefits are tied to the higher-tier Platinum Card.

American Express generally applies a once-per-lifetime rule per card product, so a prior Gold Card welcome bonus can make an applicant ineligible for a new one.
