Urumqi Diwopu International Airport URCZWWW

URC is now officially Urumqi Tianshan International Airport, formerly Urumqi Diwopu. For travelers it functions as Xinjiang’s main air gateway and a western China hub, with a strong China Southern presence plus Urumqi Air and Hainan-group activity; it is not a classic oneworld/SkyTeam/Star Alliance hub, so alliance benefits depend on the operating airline rather than the airport. Since 17 April 2025, passenger operations have shifted to the new North Terminal / T4, while the older T1, T2 and T3 are no longer the normal passenger terminals. Treat older terminal maps with caution: most practical questions now come down to where you are in T4, how much time you need for security or immigration, and whether you are continuing by metro, airport shuttle, taxi or ride-hailing.
