Mariscal Sucre International Airport UIOSEQM
Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) is Ecuador’s main air gateway and Quito’s replacement airport in Tababela, east of the city. It is an important domestic, Andean and Americas-Europe gateway rather than a giant global transfer hub. Avianca Ecuador, LATAM Ecuador and Aeroregional have a strong local role; Star Alliance presence is mainly via Avianca/Copa/United, while oneworld and SkyTeam are represented by carriers such as American/Iberia and Delta/Air Europa. The airport is compact for passengers, but the ride to central Quito is long enough that tight layovers should stay at the airport.
Timezone: America/Guayaquil
