Chengdu Tianfu International Airport TFUZUTF
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) is Chengdu’s newer, larger airport and the city’s main international gateway, about 50 km southeast of the centre. In the two-airport system, Shuangliu (CTU) remains closer to town and is more focused on domestic/business and regional flying, while Tianfu carries most international, Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan and many trunk domestic services. Frequent flyers should think of TFU as a major western-China hub: Air China has a strong Star Alliance presence, Sichuan Airlines is a major home carrier, China Eastern brings SkyTeam coverage, and Chengdu Airlines and other Chinese carriers add dense domestic feed. The airport is modern and spacious, but distances and formalities can matter on connections, especially when changing between international and domestic flights.
